Paynes Prairie Preserve State Park (Micanopy FL)

Paynes Prairie Preserve State Park is part of the Great Florida Birding Trail.  There were bald eagles, lots of hawks, some sandhill cranes, and a bunch of little birds that I can't identify without my bird book!  Besides the birds, it's a beautiful park to walk around.  There are plenty of shady hiking trails, an observation tower, and a lot of picnic areas.

This Park is located a little south of Gainesville
It's a good day when you start out seeing a Bald Eagle

This little hawk was very annoyed by my presence!

 Great park for birdwatchers!

This was a hawk who got into some kind
of altercation with the 2 black birds
Pair of sandhill cranes - maybe?  I was too far away to be sure

 Wonderful hiking trails.
Lots and lots of Spanish moss

Plenty of picnic areas and there's a campground

 Armadillo foraging for food!
